Press Release Summary = Rozmic Instant Messenger, free and secure IM for companies.
Press Release Body = Newcastle based Rozmic Wireless Ltd are set to tap into a global market worth an estimated $3.5 billion in 2006 with the launch of Rozmic Firewall, a unique product capable of protecting multi nationals and Internet Service Providers (ISPs) against email or web transmitted spam and virus attacks.
Rozmic have recently opened offices in Canada, Germany and Australia to service demand for Rozmic Firewall which has been in development since 2002. The first order worth $12,000 was placed by a US company within days of the launch.
Virus and spam protection is nothing new but Rozmic have used the spammers techniques to defeat attacks. Until now most anti-virus products were installed on customers PCs and updated hourly. With a massive virus or spam attack this system is not up to the task of protecting a network.
The Rozmic Firewall is installed on a dedicated machine located in clients offices and all email is scanned before it reaches the recipients desktop. The installed machines are monitored in real time by Rozmic technicians around the world so data and statistics from all companies using the system help build a pattern of traffic worldwide.
This means Rozmic can predict, and prevent spam or virus attacks as they happen. If, for example one thousand users send the same attachment from PCs around the world, Rozmic will know something is wrong and head off the virus attack.
With Rozmic Firewall all e-mail and web traffic is kept and analysed inside the clients own infrastructure. Rozmic administrative servers analyse traffic patterns but do not read, redirect or copy clients e-mails or web traffic, thus ensuring absolute confidentiality.
Ross Cooney, Technical Director with Rozmic Wireless says:
“With Rozmic Firewall we have developed a unique product aimed at users with over five hundred staff; and ISPs. Until now they have had to rely upon PC installed software or route all emails through a third party with the attendant security risks. Rozmic Firewall servers will scan email and web traffic at their location before delivering it to the recipients desktop. The more clients who use the system the more accurate our interpretation of worldwide spam and virus risk”.
In 2005 Ross Cooney setup Netcleanse and Gwavix, the driving technology behind Rozmic Firewall and one of the most effective spam and virus protection systems on the market. In 2004 Ross Clooney setup Rozmic Wireless Ltd, a Newcastle based software development company specialising in data transfer and mobile communications. Rozmic Wireless built up a team of talented developers and released their first set of products in May 2006.
